Is Dental Sedation The Right Solution For You?
We believe that everyone deserves to have access to caring and comfortable dental treatment. Our staff are committed to providing a friendly and warm environment for you to feel at ease when discussing any concerns that you may have.
Treatment Anxiety
Even though we have ensured our practice is as welcoming and calming as possible, for some patients who would like some extra help in reducing anxiety, we are pleased to offer Intravenous Sedation (IV).
SEDATION MAY BE AN APPROPRIATE OPTION FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCED ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
- Previous traumatic dental experience
- Fear of receiving dental treatment
- Complex treatment required and/or dental surgery
- Difficulty getting numb before dental treatment
- Hypersensitive teeth
- Difficulty in keeping mouth open
- Sensitive gag reflex
What Is Intravenous Sedation?
IV Sedation involves being administered a sedative drug through an injection in the back of your hand. The sedative drug will make you feel more relaxed and slightly sleepy without you losing control of your body. As well as reducing stress and anxiety during the procedure, one of the main side effects of sedation is amnesia. This means that you will have little recollection of the procedure and will feel as if it only lasted a few minutes, even if in reality it took longer.
